- 4th -
Matt Kelty (Republican Primary Candidate for Mayor) releases a poll
which claimed 76% of those questioned were against Harrison
Square.

- 5th - Mayor Graham Richard announces the creation of a
task force to help the city determine what developments should be
considered for the
Omni Source property.

6th - Two resolutions are given to City Council. One asks
to pledge $26 million in county economic development income taxes
and $1 million in other cash to finance Harrison Square.
The second
asks to extend the Jefferson Pointe tax district to include
the Harrison Square area.

- 10th - City Releases an
Economic and Fiscal Impact Study by the consulting firm of
Crowe Chizek
indicating that, "Harrison Square will have significant fiscal and
economic impacts on the Fort Wayne Community." The
resolutions given to the City Council on the 6th are formally
introduced in today's meeting.

- 13th - Press Conference held by Mayor Graham Richard,
Deputy Mayor Mark Becker and City Controller Pat Roller to discuss
funding for the project. Mayor Richard stated that the city
has the money to fund the project plus money would still be
available for other projects like the North River Downtown Area.

- 16th - MOUs released:
- Memorandums of Understanding released for the
stadium and
downtown hotel.
- The city's Redevelopment Commission approves the Memorandums
of Understanding for the stadium and downtown hotel.
- Nelson Peters, County Commissioner and Republican Mayoral
candidate, calls for the Indiana General Assembly to enact
legislation to allow Fort Wayne residents to vote on the Harrison
Square proposal in November.

- 17th - Memorandums of Understanding
formally presented to City Council. Discussion took place of
the MOUs, but no vote on the resolutions introduced on the 10th
was taken. However it was decided to provide the opportunity
to the public to ask a question. The hearing will take place
at next Tuesday's city-council meeting with a possible vote on the resolutions then
if council members feel comfortable.

- 18th - In response to the City
Council's request for more information, a pdf including a cash
flow analysis from 2006 through 2038, preliminary budget summary
and CEDIT allocations information has been posted to the
city's website. Also a
power point presentation regarding financial relationships and
the financial status of the proposal and city.

IPFW Report on Potential Uses for Memorial Stadium becomes
available on-line. The report was briefly presented to the
City Council in Tuesday's meeting.

- 23rd - State Legislators state there's
no way for a referendum regarding Harrison Square can be added to
any bills under current consideration.
- 24th - Public Hearing held in
City-Council Chambers before the Council to give the public an
opportunity to speak about the proposal. Over 100 people,
including financial and government leaders speak.
- City Council votes 6 to 3 in
favor of the funding resolutions to devote funds to the project.
Aye votes: Didier, Hayhurst, Hines, Pape, Talarico Jr., and
Crawford. Nay votes: Schmidt, Shoaff and Smith.
